Single Wall

Single Wall

Single wall cardboard, also known as single-ply cardboard or corrugated cardboard, is a common type of cardboard used in packaging and shipping applications. It consists of three layers: two flat outer layers, also called liners, and a fluted inner layer. The fluted layer is typically made of a wavy, ridged paperboard material that provides strength and rigidity to the cardboard.

The fluting in single-wall cardboard can come in different thicknesses, commonly referred to as flute profiles. The most common flute profiles are A, B, C, E, and F, with A being the thinnest and F being the thickest. The flute profile chosen depends on the intended application and the level of protection and strength required. Single-wall cardboard is versatile and can be used for various purposes, such as packaging boxes, dividers, and inserts.

Double Wall

Double Wall

Double wall cardboard, as the name suggests, consists of two layers of single wall cardboard combined together. It offers increased strength and durability compared to single wall cardboard, making it suitable for heavier or more delicate items that require extra protection during transportation or storage.

Similar to single wall cardboard, double wall cardboard also has fluted layers between the flat outer layers. The combination of two fluted layers adds additional strength and cushioning. Double wall cardboard is thicker and more rigid than single wall cardboard, providing enhanced resistance to impacts, compression, and stacking pressures.

Like single wall cardboard, double wall cardboard comes in different flute profiles, such as BC, EB, and BA. These profiles indicate the combination of flute thicknesses used in the two layers. The specific flute profile chosen depends on the specific application requirements and the level of protection needed.
